JBL Power Rank: 14 (Prev: 15)

Day 103/Game 49: Drones (25-23) vs. Renegades (23-25)

Sitting at 2-0 on the year against the Renegades we get them at home for this third matchup between teams battling for one of the final spots in the East while we also look to extend our three-game winning streak. NY would jump out to a small lead early in the 1st; however, it was short lived as the Drones go on to lead for the final 44+ minutes and win 120-104. Our offense seemingly rotates between Anthony, RW II, Carroll and Rush on any given night and today it was Devan leading the way with a 24 & 12 double-double. RW II and Rush would both add 20 and Xavier Russell led our bench with 10 points. One of the big differences in this game was our ability to turn our +3 advantage in turnovers into a 12-point swing for the game.

Day 105/Game 50: Drones (26-23) @ Crusaders (12-28)

Another team we currently hold a 2-0 advantage on the year is on the docket and we are able to jump out to a nice 35-23 lead after one. We would hold that lead until midway through the 3rd quarter where the game would subsequently go back and forth with 4 lead changes and 9 ties until there were only 92 ticks on the clock remaining. At 106-106, we would go on a 10-2 run to secure the road win (116-108). Rookie Kenyon Fuller had a very solid game with 27 points and 10 boards for the Crusaders. Khalen Anthony (26-10) and Rush (13-10) would both tally double-doubles for the Drones while Carroll would add 21-9-6 and RW II tallied 25-6-6 so definitely a solid game from our top four players. Backup Jason Sutton would see extra minutes due to injury suffered by Lafayette Okonkwo and he made the most of it with 9 points and 7 boards leading the bench in both categories.

Day 107/Game 51: Drones (27-23) vs. Barons (23-29)

We look to extend our five-game winning streak at home against a Barons team we beat seven days ago. The Barons would start hot and after one they would be up 32-23; however, our second quarter was even better and we would take the lead into the break up 60-57. This would be a lead we would never relinquish as we pull away in the second half to win 119-103. Anthony has another solid game going for 28 points on 11/17 from the floor and 4/4 from 3P. Rush and Carroll would both add 23 while Leonard tallied 14 assists and 10 points. Rookie Godwin Kite would lead the second unit with 14 points on 7/9 shooting while adding 3 rebounds.

Day 108/Game 52: Drones (28-23) vs. Jailbirds (40-12)

Coach Ford tried a new wrinkle in this one in hopes of finding a way to slow down the Jailbirds who beat us by 15 during visit earlier this season. The starting lineup would feature Anthony-Sutton-Carroll-RW II-Rush, but it would not matter on this night as MVP candidate, Jason Cheaney, would torch us for 51 points on 14/27 shooting, 6/11 from 3P and 17/19 from the line. On the night, the Jailbirds would shoot 52 free throws and connect on 38 of them while the home team would only shoot 12 total. Rush would finish with his 2nd triple-double on the season (20-11-10) while fouling out after seeing 28 minutes on the court. Khalen Anthony seemed a bit off seeing his first start at PF and he would end up with 9 points on 4/13 shooting. Chicago would also translate their +3 turnover advantage into a +14 on the scoreboard.
