Power Rankings: Week Five

  • By Bedouin, Day 35, 2020

1. Chicago Jailbirds (11-4, + 2.9) (Last Week #1, No Change)
The streak is now at 11 after 2 OT wins. They’ll be number 1 till it ends.

2. Las Vegas Scorpions (13-4, + 10.9) (Last Week #3, + 1)
Extended their streak to 7 with 3 wins, all by 15 points or more. Starting to settle in defensively.

3. Nashville Stars (12-4, + 7.8) (Last Week #2, - 1)
Took care of business against the Huskies in their only game of the week.

4. New York Renegades (11-6, + 5.8) (Last Week #6, + 2)
Now on a 6-game win streak the team is flying since Rashard returned from injury. Looking dangerous.

5. Seattle Thunder (12-6, + 1.2) (Last Week #5, No Change)
Went 2-1 this week but will be extremely disappointed with their performance against the Skyhawks.

6. Kansas City Knights (9-6, + 0.2) (Last Week #4, - 2)
0-2 against in-form opponents is no cause for alarm but the team lacks consistency outside of Hawes.

7. Oakland Tritons (10-8, + 2.3) (Last Week #7, No Change)
1-point loss to the Rens hurts. Despite their talent they’re on the outside of the playoffs looking in.

8. Austin Rockets (10-8, + 2.9) (Last Week #9, + 1)
Split 2 games against the Fireballs, but losses like Kings loss shouldn’t happen to serious contenders.

9. Los Angeles Fireballs (10-8, - 1.4) (Last Week #8, - 1)
Will be thrilled to be sharing the division lead with the Rockets given their poor start to the season.

10. Detroit Mustangs (7-8, + 1.6) (Last Week #11, + 1)
When Dawkins and Vaughn fire they can match it with anyone. So close to breaking the J’birds streak.

11. St. Louis Skyhawks (7-8, + 0.2) (Last Week #13, + 2)
Their pulverizing win against the Thunder was a sign of what they are capable of when on song.

12. Phoenix Vultures (7-9, + 0.2) (Last Week #14, + 2)
Went 1-2. Gradually descending.

13. New Orleans Hurricanes (10-11, - 1.6) (Last Week #12, - 1)
Broke the streak but dropped below .500. Bowen not getting enough of the ball since his return.

14. Atlanta Devils (9-12, - 1.2) (Last Week #17, + 3)
4-1 with nice wins against Knights and Tritons. Swayda and Thomas finding some stronger form.

15. Miami Cyclones (7-11, - 1.9) (Last Week #15, No Change)
Still behind the pack but the 130 they dropped on the Fireballs is a reminder of their firepower.

16. Houston Lightning (7-11, - 3.1) (Last Week #10, - 6)
Horrendous 1-5 week. Hood has been performing well off the bench, it might be time to start him.

17. Mexico City Jaguars (6-12, - 5.7) (Last Week #16, - 1)
The team went 0-3. Rodgers is absolutely on fire but not part of the team’s future. Arms race trade?

18. Cincinnati Kings (5-11, - 5.3) (Last Week #19, + 1)
The Rockets win was a strong one, but the obliteration at the hands of the Scorpions was not.

19. Toronto Huskies (5-12, - 5.9) (Last Week #18, - 1)
1-3 with a win against the Warriors does not a great week make. Barry and Houston showing flashes.

20. Philadelphia Warriors (5-14, - 7.3) (Last Week #20, No Change)
Almost got a signature win but lost by a point in OT to the Jailbirds. They did get Weaver back though.
