Wright Resigns in Chicago

CHICAGO -

Marcus Wright, who was acquired just before last year's trade deadline, has re-signed in Chicago for $9,000,000 with a player option for the 2024 season. Chicago also has agreed to a 1 year minimum contract with undrafted rookie swingman Jose Gallo out of Ohio State.

GM Austin had this to say on his recent signings:

"We are ecstatic to have Marcus back in Chicago! We feel that he completes our front court and gives us the best defensive combination of any 4 players at the Power forward and Center positions in the entire JBL. His leadership is invaluable and we love how he has been mentoring Rasheed Stone...Who better to learn from than Marcus Wright! We are also excited to announce the signing of Jose Gallo. He's a local kid and will have to play his way onto the roster, but we have high hopes for him. His 3-D profile should fit perfectly in our system. Jose told us it was a dream to play for his hometown. Talent is one thing but when someone has a dream of playing for your team...it gives you a special feeling."

Chicago still has a few roster spots left and will most likely sign above the roster limit of 15 and trim their team down before the start of the season. Seems that there will be some competition for backup roles for the Jailbirds.
