Cougar Back In Chicago

  • By Austin Simpson, Day 1, 2023

CHICAGO -

Chicago Jailbirds have decided to bring their coaching staff back for the 2023 season and beyond, headlined by head coach Jimmy Cougar. Cougar has been with the team since 2012, including their 2016 Championship team, and gets another 4 years to hopefully add to his already impressive resume. Assistant coaches Brent Williams and Eric Bradley were also resigned for the next 3 years.

Chicago's GM was quoted, "The JBirds hope the coaching continuity helps our team chemistry that was building last season. Even with the trade of Clarke, then more recently LaGarde, the team is focused on its chemistry as we make another run to the playoffs. We are excited not only by bringing our coaching staff back, but also to hopefully re-sign Marcus Wright. We feel Wright completes a stellar front court along with Wesley Sherman, Antoine Willis, and Rasheed Stone."

It remains to be seen if Chicago will resign Wright, but it appears they are welcoming him back with open arms. Keep an eye on how Chicago plans to fill the rest of their roster as depth has been their Achilles' heel for quite some time.
