Kings acquire pick #32 from Rockets for Turner

CINCINNATI - The Kings today announced that they have traded wing Xavier Turner to the Austin Rockets in exchange for the #32 pick in this year’s draft (2023 Bullets 2nd rnd). After the Kings drafted Detrez Owens and Victor Olojakpoke in the previous drafts, Turner expressed his desire to be traded to a team where he could obtain more playing time.

“X ended up being a big part of our season after Richardson and Olojakpoke were injured,” said the Cincinnati GM, “but he knew we wouldn’t be able to give him the playing time long term. He played his ass off and didn’t make waves during the season, so we felt we owed it to him to trade him where he could get a shot at a starting role.”

Turner was drafted #11 in 2020 by previous management. He played in 217 game for the Kings, starting 112.

The Kings will probably take a wing with the draft pick.
