Monster Triton Trade: Simon Hartford and 1st pick for Hayes, Gayle, Donlon, & Two 2nd pcks

OAKLAND -

Tritons made the extremely difficult decision to trade one of it's figurative and literal big leaders, Simon Hartfield. Simon Hartford and the 2025 1st round pick goes to the Louisville Colonels for Rahsaan Hayes, Aaron Gayle, Jake Donlon, and the Colonels 2024 and 2025 2nd round picks. The Colonels get a still impactful scoring, defensive, and rebounding beast while Hayes, Gayle, and Donlon give a much needed boost to the depth for the Tritons. The Colonels satisfy their lower salary issues while potentially making a push to make the playoffs with an upgrade in their bigs. The Tritons gain cap flexibility as well as much needed point guard depth in Donlon.

GM Reggie Cross: "Damn, it was the hardest call I had to make to Simon "Big Heart" Hartfield. His confidence in his team and his teammates will be sorely missed. I swear, he thinks he'll play til he's forty. He may have only been with us from the middle of last year, but his impact was tremendous. In the end, we felt the deal with Louisville was too good to turn down weighing talent with sustainability. Simon will be a great addition to Louisville, but so will Jake, Rahsaan, and Aaron for Oakland. All of them are, and will be, amazing talents for the Triton family."

Transitioning the new players make take some time into the fairly successful Triton core. As always, only time will tell how the players will gel over the course of this season.
