Flight of the Navigator - Scorps Acquire Navigato

  • By Michael Miller, Day 1, 2022

LAS VEGAS - The Las Vegas Scorpions and Mexico City Jaguars have agreed on a trade that will send SF/PF Reggie Burke and C Vladimir Dvoracek to Mexico City for SF Kai Navigato and the Baltimore Bullet’s 2023 2nd round pick.

According to team sources, Navigato was sought after because of his athleticism and defensive ability. His skills will compliment reserves PG Cassius Tyson and SF Garrett Cue, whose skills are primarily on the offensive side of the floor.

The trade also saves the Scorpions approximately $4 million dollars as they head into the offseason.

“Although Vlado and Burke have only been with us for a short period of time, they immediate became important contributors to our playoff run and they will be missed,” said Scorpions General Manager Michael Miller. “Still, adding a versatile athlete like Navigato fits our core strategy for building this team”.

This is actually Navigato’s second tenure with the team, as he was actually part of the package which sent MVP Dontay Sowder to the Lightning for SG Lamar Francis. Kai was only with Las Vegas for a short period of time being being dealt for SF Derrick Griffin.

The tale of the Flight of the Navigato should be over, as Kai is expected to have a long term role on this roster.
