The Boston Globe: Crusaders Complete Deadline Day Deal
- By Calvin Gambling, Day 120, 2026
Crusaders receive: SF/SG Deon Bell
Vultures receive: 2028 Vultures 2nd
Crusaders release: SG Marlon Marshall
The Crusaders swing a deadline day deal, picking up a promising wing in Bell. He was recently selected with the 24th overall pick in the 2025 draft. He slid due to his perceived one-way game, but the Crusaders coaching staff believes that he can improve his post defence enough to the point where he is neutral on the defensive end but possesses a microwave scoring punch, most likely off the bench. Having been a late first round pick, acquiring him for a pick that will most likely be in the 40s is a good value move. Marshall was released in order to make room for Bell on the squad. He was having a terrible year, posting a PER of just 7.0 and had been relegated to the inactives after 20 games in favour of Will Holiday. It remains to be seen how many minutes Bell will receive, but he will certainly be worked into the rotation.
