End of game:     Tritons keep fouling and come up short.  Scorps win                                     132-124 Scorpions

Tritons were down most of the game but fought back in the end to try and steal the game. It was too little too late as the Scorpions were so hot the grasshoppers were getting fried in the basket. Scorpions shot 22 for 49 from 3's (45%) and grabbed 18 offensive boards to get them the victory. Saint-Jean (21 pts, 11 ass) and Ellison (25 pts, 10 reb) had double doubles while five other scored in double figures. The Tritons were pretty hot as well shooting 49% from the field and from 3's as Lamar Francis scored just 34 points while Kai Navigato brought a double double (15 pts, 10 reb). What was clear was that the Tritons cannot be lax in their defensive scouting. Then again, like Francis, it's all O and not so much D sometimes.

Another mirror image of the last game against the Scorps, the Tritons were behind for most of the game, but fought back to try to steal the game in the end. Again, too late, again Tritons defense was poorly scouted. Offensively, the Tritons played fine shooting 51% from the field and 35% from 3's while being led by Lamar Francis with another 30+ game with 38 points. Foreman added a decent 17 with 6 blocks while Navigato came in with 16. Defensively, the three ball hurt them with the Cyclones shooting 44% from 3's but just 41% from the field. Ainsley Tucker scored 23 while Morgan hit some hot stretches to end up with 21 points. Ben Batts started strong but ended with just 12 points while Vacha Alston came in with a double double (12 pts, 11 reb). Cyclones have so much young talent that they're still managing to win without Diop, Hawkins, and Gamble. That's saying a lot... either that the Cyclones are still good without 3 top players or .. the Tritons defense sucks. Rather, Tritons defense needs to watch more game tape and not just auto pilot things. Good win for a young team, painful loss for the Tritons.

Upcoming Games:

Day 118: vs Vultures (26-30)
Day 119: @ Predators (31-24)

Vults are playing decent ball lately winning 4 of their last 5. Series is split so far and they're coming off a couple days of rest so Tritons will need to rob a Banks so their offense doesn't eat for days like some of the Tritons's recent opponents. Predators have won 6 of their last 8 with losses to the Vults and more recently the Skyhawks. For some odd reason, the Tritons have found success this season against the Preds, but with the early season momentum wearing off, it's doubtful the Tritons pull another one off at Dallas.
