Los Angeles Signs Their Draft Picks to Rookie Scale Contracts

LOS ANGELES - The Fireballs organization have embraced the new era of JBL by signing all 3 of their rookies who they have drafted last week. A move to the right direction regarding locking in personnel that would help the team battle in the new JBL league format. The trio of wingman Garret Cue (1st Round, #25 overall), frontcourts Evan Dupont (2nd Round, #43 Overall) and OG Adebayo (2nd Round, #55 Pick) were at the LA Fireballs Training Facilities to sign their contracts along with the coaches and front office staff.
Garret Cue, Memphis (1st Round, #25 Overall) - Los Angeles Fireballs got lucky as the 6'8", 208 lbs was still available late in the draft. Cue was projected as a top 10 prospect coming in the draft but questions about his defense and work ethic causes him to slide all the way to #25 where LA quickly nabbed him. He'll be utilized the same way as recently departed wing Dajuan Jefferies was used, a key off the bench scorer role.
Evan Dupont, UNC (2nd Round, #43 Overall) - at 7'2", 248 lbs, Evan Dupont fills a need in the teams lineup. An inside scorer with a penchant for post defense, a role that the team lacks during the 2020 season. He will likely battle with Keemar Campbell who was acquired via trade late in the season. Both will have to show what they got to earn the minutes.
OG Adebayo, Charleston Southern (2nd Round #55 Overall) - OG is a Los Angeles native and is just happy he is drafted by his hometown. A beefy 253 lbs on a 6'8" frame, he will likely be tested at the PF position, a position in which the team needs depth. Known for his strength and scoring capabilities inside, the bruising young man will have to prove that he can play the kind of basketball LA plays.
"I would like to officially welcome our rookies, Garrett Cue, Evan Dupont and OG Adebayo to the organization. Now that we have that out of the way, they will need to put in the work to earn their striped here in LA. This is a first step for these young guys and hopefully they can come in and contribute when their number is called." GM Jron says at the signing.
