Lumberjacks Expansion Draft Report

Pick 8 - Luke “Bugman” Williams

The 30 year old defensive wing has had a solid career as a starter and sixth man for the Tritons, Cyclones and Vultures. Played fewer than 18 minutes per game last season but still has a lot to offer as a mentor for this young team with his consistency and work ethic. Looks likely to start at shooting guard but has just one year remaining on his contract and will want to prove his worth not only at game time but at practice and in the gym.

Pick 13 - Janev “Cisco” Ciszkiwicz

The Scorpions backup center for the last two seasons, including their championship year, the 27 year old has also had stops in Los Angeles and Philadelphia. At 6-11 and 305 pounds, “Cisco” provides a tank in the middle that the Jacks hope will spare the younger bigs from being abused by more mature bodies in the post. The not so gentle giant is locked in for 4 years at $3 million per season.

Pick 28 - Shaun “Commissioner” Burrell

After a career as mostly a reserve for the Rockets, Fireballs and Skyhawks, Burrell will have his best chance in years to regularly log 20+ minutes. With 2nd round rookie Benton as his main competition, Burrell will look to recover from his 2020 shooting woes to give the Jacks a veteran presence off the bench. Like Bug Williams, his exemplary work ethic should provide a positive example for the youngsters. Burrell’s contract expires at the end of the season, giving him one shot to make his mark on this new franchise.
