Scorpions decide on their options

LAS VEGAS -
The Scorpions have used their team option on JJ Cooper for 2.3 million next season. After taking over the starting role in day 90 he averaged 12.75 PPG, 6.7 RPG and 2.5 APG on 47.5% shooting.

Qualifying offers resulted in the Scorpions passing on Damon Murray ($1,650,000) and Alexei Davydov ($3,450,000) while extending one to Cortez Ellison ($5,550,000).

Murray is a bit of a shock as he averaged 10.7 PPG, 6.6 RPG and 5.9 APG as a starter but did not mesh with the newly acquired players and fell in a 5-32 shooting slump and was sent to the J-League. His cold shooting continued in Reno shooting 38% from the field in 30 games. Davydov struggled in his performance post 90 day as he averaged 4.1 PPG and struggled to grab any rebounds in any game averaging 1.8 a game. Ellison averaged 15.6 PPG, 6.4 RPG and 4.2 APG in 31 starts for the Scorpions down the stretch.
